Here's Your {Birthday} Sign & Sale-A-Bration is almost over!

I'm a bit sad to see Sale-A-Bration go, as I'm sure you are. Only 5 more days left! With that said, here is a darling birthday card I CASE'd from Pinterest, using one of the stamp sets you can get for free with a $50 (before tax & shipping) purchase. I am not sure who came up with this first, as I've seen so many versions online. All products are Stampin' Up!

How cute is this? I love that it looks like wood and I think the banner really sets it off. The banner was made using Baked Brown Sugar Thick Bakers Twine and Retro Fresh This and That Washi Tape. I used the Handheld Stapler (that never leaves my craft area now) to attach the banner to the sign.

I stamped the sentiment with Versamark on Basic Black card stock and on Coastal Cabana, then embossed each one with White Stampin' Emboss Powder. After heat setting it, I trimmed out the little banner piece from the Coastal Cabana image. To make the Basic Black card stock look more like a chalk board, I used a sponge to rub some of our Whisper White Craft ink on it.

The card itself was made with Crumb Cake card stock, which is most certainly a staple of mine, along with Whisper White and Basic Black. I stamped the large Hardwood stamp on the outside and inside with Baked Brown Sugar Classic Stampin' Pad.

Don't wait until it's to late to get your hands on the Big Day stamp set. Look at all of the great images!

A Happy "Accident" & New Weekly Deals

I have always been fond of finding new ways to s-t-r-e-t-c-h my rubber stamps. You know, using them in ways you never thought of, while getting more miles out of your favorites!  This is exactly what happened yesterday while using this darling A Happy Thing set only available during Sale-A-Bration, which ends March 31. All images are Stampin' Up!

I was using the flower stamp from Blooming with Kindness a few days ago and realized that when used more as a background or design stamp, it had tons of potential. The very next day I was working on some samples using the A Happy Thing stamp set and a light bulb went off.

For these cards, I simply stamped the flower stamp on some scrap Whisper White card stock, then stamped the bird, lemon & leaf images on top of the flower. I trimmed them out, then stamped the entire image on a card front before adhering the design pieces on top. Not sure why, but these make me think of a 60's kind of retro look.

Both cards were very simple & quick. I had the word stamps from Lovely Amazing You sitting out from another project and thought they fit perfectly. I finished the bird card off with a few Rhinestone Basics. I just love these cards and I hope you do too!

Amazing You & New Weekly Deals

I know...it's St. Patrick's Day, but I just couldn't get in the mode of making a green card. I had Coastal Cabana on my mind instead. All products are Stampin' Up!

Do you ever have a stamp set that just doesn't want to leave your crafting table? For me, it's been Gorgeous Grunge since the day I bought it. It is SO versatile.

For this card, I've used the flower stamp from Indescribable Gift, a word stamp from Lovely Amazing You and a couple of stamps from Gorgeous Grunge.

I separated some of the Coastal Cabana Thick Baker's Twine to have thinner pieces and mixed that with the Basic Black Baker's Twine for the little messy "nest" under the sentiment.

The matching envelope really completes the look. This is a very quick card set to put together and would work equally well for a thank you, thinking about you, sympathy or birthday occasion.

Hello You!

I am completely honored to be the guest stamper over at www.stampinpretty.com! For this card, I used the baby wipe technique of dropping different colors of reinkers on a baby wipe, making your own "ink pad". I just love the colors on this card. All products are Stampin' Up!

I used the a stamp from the Work of Art for the "swoosh". The flower is from Something To Say set. It was embossed and punched out using the flower punch from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack. The word is from the Hello You Thinlits Dies.

I used the Essentials Paper Piercing Pack to punch tiny holes across the card front before hand stitching with Whisper White Baker's Twine. I think all in all, it is a simple, but elegant way to finish of this card.

Pals March 2015 Blog Hop: Spring Has Sprung!

Welcome to the Pals Blog Hop for March 2015, where we will be sharing projects with Spring as the theme.

You may just be starting the blog hop or you may have come from Kerry Willard Bray's Peonies and Paper Chains, #23 on the Pals Hop. If you get off track at any time, the full line up below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all of the amazing creations.

The first time I looked through the new Stampin' Up! Occasions catalog, I threw on the brakes when I came to page 35. The stamp set called Indescribable Gift practically jumped off the page to grab my attention. The luscious flowers and the beautiful font that make up the word stamps, just beg, BEG, to be revered, inked and stamped with. And yes, these stamps think they deserve to hold a top spot in your craft room. In fact, look at the flowers. They demand this spot.

I'm completely enamored with the color Calypso Coral. It is quite striking: warm and completely elegant at the same time. For this card, I wanted to keep it somewhat clean and simple. I chose not to use a word stamp on the front, as I think the design speaks for itself. I had never seen the spotlight technique done this way and I love the way the vellum layers look. The bottom white layer more toward the center, is adhered flat to the card front. The middle layer is resting on one layer of Stampin' Dimensionals. The top layer closest to the outer edge of the card is resting on a double layer of Stampin Dimensionals.

Are you hand delivering the card you just made for a special someone? If so, don't just stamp on the envelope...embellish it! I love how the envelope really coordinates with the card design. The smattering of Rhinestone Basic Jewels really add the perfect sparkle to this card & envelope ensemble. I think this card would look lovely in many other colors and would work for all kinds of occasions. Product list after the final blog hop line up.

The next stop is  Martie Pollard's The Crafty Bandit, #25 on the Pals Blog Hop! Thanks for visiting and  I hope to see you next month.

Tiny "Peep" Treat Box

Many years ago, I co-owned a clothing boutique with a dear friend of mine named Vicki. We discovered during that time that we both had a serious love for the sugar-coated, marshmallow-y goodness called Peeps. We would even tuck a few boxes of these in our suitcases to take with us when we went to the April fashion market in Dallas every year.

#addictedtopeeps

Due to this particular addiction, they are front and center when I think about Easter. Because of this, I thought what a great idea it would be to tuck a little treat in my own hand-made peep for my family! All products shown below are Stampin' Up!

How cute is this? I used Daffodil Delight card stock to cut out the Curvy Keepsake Box and to cut a couple of feathers for the wings using the Feathers Framelits. Using the same color of ink, I sponged the all edges of the box and feathers before assembling. I used a dauber to add the cheek color. I used Pumpkin Pie card stock to make the feet from cup part of the Cupcake Builder Punch. I punched it out and cut it in half. It works perfectly.

For the beak, I used a square I punched with the 1" Square Punch, folded in half and trimmed. I found just the right size of circles for the eyes by using a portion of the Owl Builder Punch.

I do believe a wrapped Peep or even a Cadbury Creme Egg will fit in this little box. I think it is darling and I think it would even be cute in other colors.
