Art/Craft:
I have been dabbling in rubber stamping and mixed media for over 19 years and have been a Stampin' Up! customer the entire time. I taught classes for several years in Springfield, MO at a local rubber stamp store until the owner retired. I have been published in Somerset Studio, Stampers Sampler and Vamp Stamp News. I have done samples for several rubber stamp companies. I had dreamt of becoming a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator for over 10 years. I finally took the plunge in June of 2014 and joined the company. It is an honor to be involved with a company like Stampin' Up! and I'm having the time of my life.
A Paris themed mixed media piece I created was a top 10 finisher in the 2007 Kirkland's Home search for the Next Great American Artist out of over 1700 entries. (to date, my most exciting art related achievement)
I also paint (and sell) art suitable for home decor, using watercolor and/or acrylics. My dream is to be represented by a gallery one day.
Most unusual thing I've done:
I had a bit part in a movie a few years ago that was filmed locally. It was great fun to be a part of that and after wearing a fake nose ring for most of that day, I can safely say I probably won't be getting one. (LOL) I played a "victim".
Personal:
I've been married for 37 years to the love of my life. We have 2 children and several grandchildren who keep us busy. We used to run marathons and are hoping to get back to that soon. After about 20 years in the insurance industry, I left that for fewer hours and less stress to work in a family owned business in Branson, MO. I now have more energy and time to focus on Stampin' Up! and other art related adventures.
What a talented artist you are, Kim! Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful work! I enjoyed your blog immensely!

Deletei, too, am so glad I found your blog. Your "foolproof watercolor" blog was fascinating! I have to try it! The end result was absolutely gorgeous! While I am not a runner, my son and his wife are. They travel all over the US and ran a marathon along the Great Wall of China last year. This summer they are going to Iceland to run a marathon along a glacier with friends they met on the China marathon. Great sport, great way to meet new friends!
