Vintages Leaves + Designer Series Paper

I can't believe it's been a week since I've posted. I apologize for that as life has thrown me some curve balls lately.

Unfortunately, I've needed several sympathy cards lately.  With very little time to make this one,  I pulled out the Moroccan Designer Series paper once again for a quick card. This paper is included in the buy 3, get one free promotion. Don't wait until it is too late! Last date for this promotion is October 31.

I think the Elegant Eggplant color goes amazingly well with the Delightful Dijon! I pulled the sentiment for the front and the inside from the Rose Wonder stamp set. It has some beautiful sentiments and I find myself reaching for that set quite often due to that alone.

Quick Cards Using Designer Series Paper

If your time is short like mine is, using Stampin' Up! Designer Series Paper to make several cards at once makes life easier. All products Stampin' Up!

For this group of thank you cards, I have chosen the gorgeous Moroccan Designer Series Paper. This paper is included in the buy 3, get one free promotion which ends 10/31/16.

I adore all of the colors that I was able to use with this paper. Delightful Dijon and Dapper Denim are some of my favorites.

I inked up the Definitely Dahlia (large flower background stamp) with Delightful Dijon, stamped it off once to lighten the color a bit, then stamped it over the sentiment stamped with Dapper Denim on Very Vanilla cardstock. I used the 1 3/4 Circle Punch to cut the sentiment from the cardstock. The sentiment is from Happy Happenings stamp set.

I made 10 of these cards in under 30 minutes. There are so many beautiful options to choose from during this buy 3, get one free promotion. Don't wait until it is too late!

Woodsy Christmas Card (One More #GDP058: Sketch Challenge)

I'm playing along with the Global Design Project challenge again this week, which is a sketch challenge. If you didn't see my post yesterday, click here

When you are playing along with a sketch challenge, remember it is just a jumping off point. Your artwork doesn't have to literally be just like the sketch. All products Stampin' Up!

This card was so much fun to create! Believe it or not, the wreath was made using just one stamp from the Penned & Painted set available in my online store here. I will be posting a tutorial with photos later this week with another wreath card made from that particular stamp set.

I stamped the single image over and over with Garden Green & Crumb Cake on watercolor paper. I softened the look with a wet brush called an Aqua Painter.

I stamped a portion of the deer using a splatter stamp from Gorgeous Grunge and embossed it with White Stampin' Emboss powder. I love how great the Woodgrain Textured Embossing folder works with this card. See instructions below for how to get a folder just like it for free!

Global Design Project #GDP058: Sketch Challenge

I'm playing along with the Global Design Project challenge this week, which is a sketch challenge.

The almost "bokeh" effect was achieved by using the small splatter stamp from Gorgeous Grunge and stamping off twice with Sahara Sand ink before stamping the image. Then I colored those same images with Clear Wink of Stella. I also colored the "Joy" with Clear Wink of Stella. It adds a subtle, but elegant glittery look.

Simple Noel

Good morning all! After I made this card, I realized many different sentiments would actually work in place of "noel". This card could be made as is for a masculine themed card with "happy birthday" or could be made in different colors for a feminine birthday. This layout would even be great for a sympathy card. All products are Stampin Up!

The pearls don't show up well in this photo, but coordinating sequins or rhinestones would also work to dress this card up.

With Sympathy

Sympathy cards are so hard to make at times. In a perfect world, I would always have a stash of cards made that I could add a sentiment to in times like this, but that doesn't always happen. All products Stampin' Up!

I've said before that there are rarely mistakes in stamping. See the background on this card? This started out as the background I was going to use for the deer card I made yesterday. (click here to see that card) However, I decided I wanted a brighter color behind the deer and I think the Bermuda Bay worked well. The watercolor wash on this card was made by using a bit of ink from the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. That particular ink is water-based, so you can watercolor with it. I also colored the leaf with it, but didn't dilute the ink as much to achieve a deeper color.

The sentiment is from the Rose Wonder stamp set. The speckles are from the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set. (that particular stamp set NEVER leaves my stamping area) I finished the card off with Basic Black Metallic Thread and Rhinestones. The leaf is popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Retro Christmas

Sweet & simple, this particular card feels somewhat retro to me. I took direct inspiration from someone I follow on Instagram for this card. Her name is Ksenija Rizova and you can find her @sweetkobylkin. All products are Stampin' Up!

I did a watercolor wash using Bermuda Bay ink on the watercolor panel to start this card. I stamped the wreath and the sentiment using Real Red ink and layered the watercolor panel on Real Red cardstock.

Season of Joy

I love the Stampin' Up! color called Cucumber Crush. It is so beautiful and fresh! I think it makes a lovely holiday card paired with white. All products Stampin' Up!

I used the Christmas Pines Bundle to make this card. The white layer is watercolor paper, as I wanted a bit of texture without using an embossing folder. The watercolor paper is is clean & simple layer, but not necessarily plain.

I used Clear Wink of Stella to "color" the pine needles & such and finished off with a few rhinestones. This card has just the right amount of sparkle.

Tidings of Comfort And Joy

This was a quick watercolor card a I did a few days ago. I love how a watercolor card  can look more complicated than it really is! Most products Stampin' Up!

If you saw my blog post here from yesterday, you will see I've been having stampin' adventures in my kitchen. For this card, I actually started out by putting a light wash on the watercolor piece using left over coffee. It wasn't strong enough for the color I wanted, so I ended up grabbing my Delightful Dijon inkpad to up the color a bit. The rest was just some stamping with images from the Christmas Pines stamp set. By the way...I'm using the Ovals Collection Framelit Dies a ton! It is so great to have all of the different sizes of scalloped and regular oval dies, all perfect for card making.
