A Happy "Accident" & New Weekly Deals

I have always been fond of finding new ways to s-t-r-e-t-c-h my rubber stamps. You know, using them in ways you never thought of, while getting more miles out of your favorites!  This is exactly what happened yesterday while using this darling A Happy Thing set only available during Sale-A-Bration, which ends March 31. All images are Stampin' Up!

I was using the flower stamp from Blooming with Kindness a few days ago and realized that when used more as a background or design stamp, it had tons of potential. The very next day I was working on some samples using the A Happy Thing stamp set and a light bulb went off.

For these cards, I simply stamped the flower stamp on some scrap Whisper White card stock, then stamped the bird, lemon & leaf images on top of the flower. I trimmed them out, then stamped the entire image on a card front before adhering the design pieces on top. Not sure why, but these make me think of a 60's kind of retro look.

Both cards were very simple & quick. I had the word stamps from Lovely Amazing You sitting out from another project and thought they fit perfectly. I finished the bird card off with a few Rhinestone Basics. I just love these cards and I hope you do too!
