Parting is such sweet sorrow...

This card was made using several of my favorite Stampin' Up! retiring products.

The center layer was cut using the Labels Collection Framelits Dies and the texture on the Blushing Bride background panel was made using the Beautifully Baroque Textured Impressions embossing folder. These are a whopping 50% off right now and you need to get them quick!

Both of the stamp sets used are retiring also. Blooming with Kindness and the Dictionary background stamp. Both have been staples for all kinds of cards. The Dictionary stamp is a great way to add interest to backgrounds or over central images.

Follow this link to see how you can receive your first 2 months worth of Paper Pumpkin at 50% off. Please choose me as your demonstrator...I would appreciate it!

I hope you enjoyed the project. Please use hostess code Q4ZZGBGE  when ordering online, unless your order will total $150 before shipping & tax. As always, let me know if you have any questions about the project or the products used. Thanks for visiting my blog.

Bright & Beautiful Vellum Gift Box

As it turns out, I'm completely enamored with small boxes. Particularly the "no stick box" that UK Stampin' Up! demonstrator Sam Donald has a tutorial for over on her blog. I sized it up a bit and my measurements and instructions for scoring are here. All products used for this project are Stampin' Up!

I made the box using the Gold Fancy Designer Vellum Foil. I made a "belly band" using the Gold 5/8 inch Satin Ribbon. The  star embellishment is made using the new stamp set Bright & Beautiful and the Star Framelits Die. The stars and linen thread is attached to the ribbon, so it will slip off of the box easily. Isn't this yummy??

I used Fringe Scissors to shred white tissue paper to stuff the box with. I did use one tiny glue dot near the opening of one end of the box to hold it all together and make it easier to stuff with tissue paper.

Just wrap your tiny trinket in a bit of white tissue paper, put more of the shredded paper around it and you have a very elegant presentation for gift giving. Products used for this project are as follows:

Rich Razzleberry & Daffodil Delight Blendabilities

Blendabilities offer a complete WOW factor like nothing else I've used. The richness of the shading it is possible to achieve with these alcohol based markers is just beautiful. Forgive me, I did smudge the top of this card with an inky finger, but didn't see it until it was too late. I am hoping the beauty of the flower makes it not so noticeable!

I stamped the flower from the Hostess set Bloom with Hope with  Tuxedo Black Memento on Whisper White cardstock, then used Daffodil Delight and Rich Razzleberry Blendabilities to color it in. Selective use of the Color Lifter really brings the flower to life. The leaves are from the same set and stamped with Stampin' Up! Old Olive Classic Stampin' Pad and the other images from Gorgeous Grunge are stamped with Daffodil Delight & Rich Razzleberry Classic Stampin' Pads.

I highlighted areas of the flower center with tiny dots using the Signo uni-ball gel pen. After cutting out the flower, I used a small stylus to trace the lines around the edges of the petals, pushing down slightly to "dent" the paper. Then I flipped the paper over upside down and used the large end of the stylus to plump or gently push out the areas inside the dented lines. The texture this technique creates is quite lovely. The picture below doesn't do it justice. Used some Linen Thread for added interest and doubled up on the Stampin' Dimensionals to pop the flower up. Doubling them really adds a certain oomph to the card. I think this flower is screaming "look at me"!
