Petal Palette PLUS Artful Background Technique

Hey stampers...I am participating in the Global Design Project Challenge this week. This week, the challenge is to CASE a beautiful card by one of their United States team members  named Shawn de Oliveira. All products Stampin' UP!

CASE = Copy And Selectively Edit

Remember that when you CASE a project you can take what you like from the design and make it your own. It might be the stamp set - the colors, the layout, the theme, the images - whatever you like that has inspired you to make a card of your own.

Here is the inspiration for this project:

For my project, I wanted to use some sort of pink & green, so I chose Melon Mambo, Lemon Lime Twist and Granny Apple Green. I also used elements from the same Petal Palette stamp set and coordinating dies Shawn used.

Look how cool the background is? I simply took pieces of Saran Wrap and tapped them on to the various ink pads (one color at a time) and laid it across the card front. The picture below is of a couple of the pieces I had used. Very simple and I am going to expand on this technique at a later date.

After I applied the inks with the Saran Wrap, I inked up the dot pattern stamp from the set and randomly  stamped it with Granny Apple Green.

The branch die cut and the sentiment shape are included in the coordinating dies.

You can make this too!

The Sale-A-Bration promotion runs from Jan 3 to Mar 31. For every $50 or $100 you spend (before tax & shipping), you earn FREE exclusive Sale-A-Bration products. Quite a few of the Sale-A-Bration items coordinate with items from the Occasions Catalog, which makes getting the freebie even sweeter!
