I am having so much fun with this technique. When the powers that be over on Splitcoaststampers asked to feature this technique along with my video, I jumped at the chance. The card above looks quite a bit softer and a bit more elegant than my original tie-dye backgrounds on this blog post did. I used Smokey Slate and Powdered Pink inkpads for this project, along with the Celebration Time Bundle and the 1/2" Finely Woven Ribbon in Powdered Pink.

DeleteThanks so much for the reply Kim! I've been checking back every day wondering...and watching to see what cool thing you do next! I've been playing with this technique for about 3 weeks now...lots of neat tie dyed panels...but no finished cards YET...but thinking I may finally finish one this morning as a thank you for our host this weekend...just wasn't sure which adhesive I'd grab to adhere the panel to the base...worried that the glue stick wouldn't be strong enough..lil OCD/CDO here & worry about it coming apart after I give it to our host... we'll see how it holds up I guess...fingers crossed. 😎
DeleteThe coffee filter is SO porous, I don't think you need to be worried. Just wrap it around the edges, then glue that layer on top of your card front. Mine are weeks old and holding up fine.
