Last Day for Sale-A-Bration!

Have the last several weeks been as busy for you as they have for me? I either need to be able to operate on less sleep or need more coffee, not sure which! There are just not enough hours in my day to do all I want to do. In case you haven't figured it out, I'm apologizing for my lack of posting lately. I promise I will try to get back to being a bit more regular.

I did want to remind all of you that this is the last day to take advantage of the awesome Sale-A-Bration items available with either a purchase of $50 before tax & shipping or $100 before tax & shipping. This year, Stampin' Up! has what they call "level 1"  and "level 2" items available. If you haven't got your hands on a few of those, you need to go check them out.

Click HERE to see what you have available today only.

This is a card I made with the Eclectic Expressions stamp set. This set is available as a "level 1" Sale-A-Bration item.

As a little reminder...need/want everything and want free stuff? For every $50 you spend (before tax and shipping from any of the Stampin' Up! catalogs or clearance), choose a FREE product from the Sale-A-Bration brochure. Plus, new this year: Earn even bigger rewards when you spend $100 (before tax and shipping). Click HERE to see what you may miss out on if you don't take advantage of the offers today.

Birthday Bash Stampin' Friends Blog Hop

Welcome to the Birthday Bash Stampin' Friends Blog Hop!  This month it is all about birthdays. You will see links for the rest of the hoppers below my projects.

When going through my stash over the past weekend, I ran across a tiny black frame I had picked up at the dollar store several years ago. Instead of $1, it was $.25! It was because it had some minor flaws. Other than the frame & the tiny piece of cheese cloth under the bird, all products are Stampin' Up!

The "flaws" on the frame, were these tiny impressions from being packed too tightly against other frames. I covered those flaws up with washi tape! Wouldn't this make a cute duo to give someone for their birthday?

The color layered behind the bird and layered on the card is Peekaboo Peach. It is one of the 2016-2018 In Colors that will be retiring. If you love a peachy color like I do, I would get the ink pad, reinker and any of the ribbon or paper you need right away. There is always a run on the retiring In Colors when it gets a bit closer to June and they sell out quick.

I love all the layers on this card. The main background paper is a scrap I had from the Wood Textures Designer Series Stack. It gave a great neutral background for the torn Peekaboo Peach piece and the bold black & white flower and die cut. I took a piece of Peekaboo Peach Crinkled Seam Binding and cut the finished sides from a strip of it, then pulled the edges to fray them. I used some of the solid black bakers twine along with it and tied it around the layers. I think the washi tape perfectly finished the card. Full supply list below the list of links for the rest of the hoppers.

I hope you enjoyed my projects. Thank you so much for hopping with the Stampin' Friends today. Please take a minute to mark your calendar for our next hop on March 15, 2018. Now hop along using the Blog Hop Line-up below. Don’t forget to leave us a comment. We really like that!

Primary Colors with a Pop Of Black

Do you remember as a child when you learned what primary colors were? I do. I loved it when the art teacher came to our class to make projects and always loved the bright combo of all three colors.

The above card was made using the Brusho Crystal Colours available in the Stampin' Up! 2018 Occasions catalog. This is a simple product to use and produces stunning results! Watch the video below to see several ways to use this cool product. The technique I used for the shapes above (watercolor paper cut with the Stitched Shapes Framelits) starts at about the 2:00 mark in the video.

The "amazing" word die is from the Celebrate You Thinlits, available as a level 2 Sale-A-Bration reward. The stamped word "you" is from the Amazing You stamp set, available as a level 1 Sale-A-Bration reward. See video below for more info on this dynamic duo!

All About Love Stampin' Friends Blog Hop

Welcome to the Stampin' Friends "All About Love" Blog Hop! This is my first time hopping with this talented group of people and I am excited to say that I will be participating monthly this year. Thank you Elizabeth Jeanne Thatcher for inviting me. You will see the links to the rest of the hoppers underneath my project.

I have been having a lot of fun with the Sure Do Love You Bundle and the Waterfront stamp set, both available in the new 2018 Occasions catalog. For this card and gift box combo, I used a piece of watercolor paper I had stamped & watercolored for the box pieces and the strip on the card.

I will be doing a video tutorial for this fabulous background I am calling Bohemian Rhapsody.

Just know this, I used several stamps from the Waterfront stamp set, alternately stamping and softening the images with an Aqua Painter. Those wonderful stamps are a MUST HAVE just like I used to tell you that the (now retired) Gorgeous Grunge was a must have. I also used a few images for the gold embossed portion on the gorgeous painted paper.

I love how this set turned out! The Berry Burst Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon was just perfect for the little box. I will fill it up with treats before I give it away with the matching card.

I hope you enjoyed my projects. Thank you so much for hopping with the Stampin' Friends today. Please take a minute to mark your calendar for our next hop on February 15, 2018. Now hop along using the Blog Hop Line-up below. Don’t forget to leave us a comment. We really like that!

Cityscapes, Landscapes & Instagram

The weather has been very wintry here for the last several days. We have snow on the ground and it is cold outside. (The windchill is 10 below zero as I type this post at 9:20pm) I didn't get very much done on Sunday. After working a long week at my day job, I usually need a day to rest and unwind. Since it was so cold, we pretty much snuggled on the couch and watched Suits episodes. Don't judge me, but we are watching them on Amazon for the second time. I'm a "Harvey fan".

I woke up this morning with some new ideas for cityscapes and another landscape using the Waterfront stamp set. Seriously, you NEED this stamp set! Many times when I come up with a new idea, I post the cards on some demonstrator facebook pages to get feedback before I do a blog post with them. I have to say, all 3 of these samples went over quite well. In fact, the cityscapes went over so well, I am working on a video showing how I made them.

Don't you just love the sample above?? So artsy and I adore the die cut word! This word die is just one of the 3 in the set called Celebrate You Thinlits Dies in the Sale-A-Bration catalog. This is a level 2 "freebie". All you have to do is purchase $100 before tax & shipping in order to earn this die set. My online store is here. Once you put your items totaling at least $100 in your shopping cart, you will have the option to list these word dies as your free Sale-A-Bration item. It is item #146840.

Tried the same "recipe" for the above card, just used different ink colors. I know you can't tell, but I have randomly applied Clear Wink of Stella to the buildings, word and the edge of the black layer. These 2 cityscape cards are stunning in person.

The above card was inspired by landscape prints I have seen various places online by White Doe Prints. I loved the somewhat contemporary feel to this card.

As I stated above, I will be filming a video showing how I used the stamps below to create the cityscapes. This set is really a value at only $17!

The other really awesome thing that happened today is that I hit the 500 followers mark on Instagram. If you don't already follow me, please think about doing so. I post some of my random artwork on there that doesn't always make it on to my blog.
