Pals February Blog Hop: CASE the Catty

Welcome to the Pals Blog Hop for February 2016. We are thankful you stopped by to take a look at our new 2016 Blog Hop monthly themes.  This month we are CASE-ing a project shown in a current Stampin’ Up! catalog. After all, with the Annual, Occasions and Sale-a-Bration catalogs available right now, there is much inspiration to choose from. We hope you enjoy our creations.

You may just be starting the Blog Hop or may have come from the previous link from the Line-up on the Pals Blog Hop listing shown below.  The full lineup will help you move along from blog to blog so you may see all the projects.

My project is a CASE of this project on page 19 of the 2016 Occasions Catalog:

I loved the Rose Wonder stamps/Rose Garden thinlits bundle the minute I saw it in the catalog. So many ways to use the stamps and die cuts!

I embossed the die cut leaves with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing folder. I used the Gold Wink of Stella to add the gold sparkle on the raised areas of the leaves and painted the edge of the sentiment die with it also.

Wish you could see this card in person. The photos don't do it justice. I simply love Basic Gray with touches of gold for accent. The card sparkles all over, after "flicking" the Gold Wink of Stella on the background.

Thanks for visiting. To continue with the hop, please refer to the Blog Hop Line-up below. We hope to see you on next month’s Pals Blog Hop!

Supply List:
Built for Free Using: My Stampin Blog

Please use the hostess code shown in the top right corner when ordering online, unless your order will total $150 before shipping & tax. At that point, you become your own hostess and get all the rewards.  Please keep in mind if you choose "no contact" from the demonstrator, I'm unable to see your name to send a thank you note!

Let me know if you have any questions about this project or any others on my blog.

Artfully Yours,
Kim

  1. Kim, now I understand your concern about the photo not doing justice to this lovely project. I even made a special note about that when I pinned it. This is a lovely CASE and must be stunning to hold. I may do an exact CASE of your CASE just to appreciate all the details. How do you "flick" gold Stella... just hold it over and tap???

    1. Katy...thank you so much! I squeezed a bit of the liquid into the reservoir and tapped it against my hand while holding it over the cardstock. Hope that makes sense.

  2. This is such an improvement from the caty sample. Love the use of the thin metallic thread instead of the thick thread. Great job.

  4. Oh, Kim! You made a stunning card!! I knew that your card would be wonderful and you didn't disappoint. Your card should definitely replace the one in the catalog. If it's prettier in person, then it's fabulous!!

  6. Kim, this is one of those "CASEs" of the spin being better than the original. Love it!!!
