Simple Anniversary Card & Last Day for Sale!

On November 17, my husband and I celebrated 34 years of marriage. He is the love of my life and very understanding about my Stampin' Up! obsession and my "need" for chocolate. All products Stampin' Up!

Hard to get him to sit still for a photo, but I took this one last year while visiting this cool distillery called Copper Run located near Branson, MO.

This card is very simple and mostly self-explanatory. I wanted a small amount of bling on this card, so I took a scrap piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock, tapped Versamark ink on it (directly from the inkpad) and heat embossed the strip with Iridescent Ice Stampin' Emboss Powder. I really think that little strip coupled with the Gold Metallic Thread added just the right amount of sparkle for a masculine card. Happy Thanksgiving and Online Extravaganza Continues

On this Thanksgiving Day, I am grateful for more things than I can list, but mostly thankful for my loving family. I was thinking of all of them when I made this card. All products Stampin' Up!

To achieve this look, I painted directly on the rubber stamp with full strength reinkers, then stamped the image on watercolor paper. Using my Aqua Painter brush, I softened and blended the colors a bit more. I used the glitter splatter technique to apply the glitter.

Simple Winter Wonderland card and Online Extravaganza Continues

I just love the simplicity of this holiday card with the pop of red. All products are Stampin' Up!

The Winter Wonderland Designer Series Paper and the coordinating Vellum Stack make this card quick & easy to put together. In case you are wondering, there is a vellum overlay on the central piece of DSP. It was a scrap I had left from this card. (Be sure to read my tip on adhering this vellum).

Don't forget to decorate the inside of the card and the envelope! I used the Basic Black Archival Stampin' Pad, this way the ink on the envelope won't smear if the mailman delivers in inclement weather. I have this one ready to go with either a stamped sentiment or a handwritten note. Please note that all of the Wonderland items are retiring, so get them while they last.

Global Design Project #GDP012 and Online Extravaganza Starts Today!

I am honored to be the Guest Design Team Member for the Global Design Project Challenge this week. Global Design Project is a team of demonstrators from around the globe who offer weekly challenges based on different themes. This week, Brian King from the United States is hosting the challenge and the theme is "CASE the Designer". I was instructed to be inspired by either the theme, layout, the colors or particular stamp sets. Here is his card:

I ended up being inspired by the layout. All products are Stampin' Up!

Are you wondering how I adhered the vellum without adhesive showing? I adhered the bottom of the vellum under the Whisper White cardstock layer. On the top portion of the vellum, using a toothpick, I simply put a teeny tiny bit of Tombo Multipurpose liquid glue under a few of the gold splatters. Worked like a charm.

Global Design Project #GDP011

I am playing along this week with the Global Design Project #GDP011. This week's challenge was to submit a project with a Christmas theme. This worked perfectly for me since I am doing a fabulous Christmas themed workshop in my home this weekend. All products Stampin' Up!

Forgive me for the glare on the card, there is so much shine on that gorgeous piece of paper, I had a hard time photographing it.

I am really loving this little double tag with the scoring near the top. I cut 2 pieces of Whisper White paper, one measured 2in x 5in, the other measured 2in x 4.5in. I used the Ornate Tag Topper Punch for the tops of the tags and scored the shorter tag. I used adhesive to adhere them, added some pretty snippets of paper and stamped the sentiment. You could do the traditional "to & from" inside or there is enough space to write a small note.

Jolly Elegance...Global Design Project #010

Yes, I know. This card is fitting since my last name is Jolley. One time when my son was 5 years old,  I heard someone wish him a Merry Christmas around the holidays. His reply was "it's my season, you know?" My son is witty, kind and very creative, actually an amazing artist. He has always inspired me.

I'm playing along with the Global Design Project challenge #010. If you have not had a chance to do so, I encourage you to visit their page and play along with them. There is some incredible talent over there and the challenges really get your artistic juices flowing. I took a bit of creative license with this week's sketch, but I think you can see where my inspiration came from. This week's sketch is by the lovely and talented Teneale Williams. I have followed her religiously this past year while she did her stint on the Stampin' Up! Artisan team.

I LOVE neutrals mixed with metallics. This combo tends to show up on occasion on my blog. All products are Stampin' Up!

To make this background, I inked up the raised side of (inside) the Polka Dot Textured Impressions Embossing Folder with the Versamark Ink pad, ran it through the Big Shot with Tip Top Taupe paper, then embossed it with Silver Stampin' Emboss Powder. I love the randomness of where the embossing showed up. I never meant for it to look perfect. I knew when I inked up the folder, some would end up in other places other then just the raised dots. I think it is even more beautiful than if it had only been on the dots.

I watercolored the central piece with a bit of Tip Taupe Taupe ink, did a little more stamping & embossing, then stapled the word to the front. Added a vellum layer to finish it off and popped up that piece with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Pals November Blog Hop: "So Thankful"

Welcome to the Pals November Blog Hop, we’re so thankful you stopped by. This month we’re showcasing projects that feature Stampin’ Up! Thanksgiving and “Thank You” products. We hope you enjoy our creations.

You may just be starting the Blog Hop or you may have come from the previous blog on the Pals Blog Hop listing shown below. The full lineup will help you move along from blog to blog so you can enjoy each and every beautiful project.

This project was pretty simple. I cut a leaf out of watercolor paper using a leaf die from the Stampin' Up! Leaflets Framelits Dies. I watercolored one side of the leaf by using the Pumpkin Pie reinker & water.

I used the smallest width Project Life Journaling Pen to lightly outline the leaf and go around the perimeter of the top layer of the card. Don't be afraid of this technique, it's not supposed to look perfect!

The black wispies are just very thin cardstock that I curled with my bone folder. The splatter was made using a stamp from the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set. The words were embossed with White Stampin' Emboss Powder and are from the Remarkable You stamp set. I doubled up on the Stampin' Dimensionals to really boost the focal point of this card. Supply list is below.

Global Design Project #9 and New Weekly Deals

This week's Global Design Project #GDP009 challenge is using 3 of my favorite 2015-2016 In Colors. At the same time, I had been contemplating making a Christmas card from a very non-Christmassy stamp set called Awesomely Artistic. I love every image in this stamp set. It has so many possibilities.

I used one of the word dies from the Christmas Greetings Thinlits die set. I just love the way it is attached to the tiny frame-like image, which I have "floated" above the overall design.  I cut the center out of that frame image to give it a bit more interest and used snips of Stampin' Dimensionals to pop it up over the white Baker's Twine.

So Grateful

I have had two very exciting things happen this morning. Last week, I participated in the GDP008 challenge over at the Global Designs Project blog. It was great fun and I encourage all of you to play along. I found out this morning that I was one of three winners! My project can be found here.  Thanks so much to all of the talented designers over there who continually inspire me.

I have been a member of Splitcoaststampers for many years. If you do not know about this amazing website for papercrafters, check it out. It is chock full of inspiration, tutorials and tons of challenges to get your creative juices flowing. Each week, they feature a stamper. This morning, I was completely humbled to find out it was me.  With all of the talent exhibited on that website, I was completely floored. Please visit my gallery (small, but growing) and CASE one of my projects. Use #FS456 so I will be able to find it and be inspired by your work!

After last week's post using the flower from the Stampin' Up! set Remarkable You, I just couldn't quit thinking about the watercolor possibilities of the images from this stamp set. Look at these amazing images:

This is how I did it...all products Stampin' Up! unless noted. I inked the stamp with Sahara Sand ink, stamped it off once on scrap paper, then stamped it on watercolor paper. This gives you a faint image to paint with your inks. I tapped ink from the colors I had chosen on to one of my acrylic blocks, using the block for my paint palette. Using one of my Aqua Painters, I painted the flower with Cherry Cobbler and Crushed Curry and the stem and leaves with Old Olive and Old Artichoke. To complete the look of this flower, I took a sketch pencil from my stash and traced the image, paying special attention to the details. This really helps the image pop. The rest is pretty self explanatory, but please let me know if you have questions. If you are viewing this blog post via email, you may have to click on over to my blog to see the products I used.
